1. Be Original.

No Do not stand on the shoulders of giants, you lazy copy cat! It is one thing to see what others do to see what works and what does not, but DO NOT COPY. And OMG please do not copy my site or I will unleash Google on you and I will close the doors to this blog. Copying simply does not work. I had explained this to a friend of mine and he wrote something about it in his blog.

This is what you do instead. By all means check to see what works, but then don’t simply copy, no no, make it better. Remember being original does not equal better, or more conversion. If your market has 5 Investor Carrot site on the first page, and they most likely all will look feel sound and taste exactly the same, you absolutely should do effort making your site custom, unique. Make it look simpler, not more complicated, organic and credible. Different!

2. Remove Stock Photos, Heck Remove Stock Everything

No you are not building a photography website. You are not being elegant nor are you making your site any more credible adding generic pictures to your site that absolutely do nothing more than slow your site down. So yes please remove all the stock photos. Those that came with your site and those you found on internet. If your photos are original, but look like stock photos… do not use them.

Why do you think my picture is not up on my website? I am so freaking sexy people think I am a supermodel and they won’t believe I am real. Instead I put a picture of Jess up. She is not as good looking as I am. BUT…

That’s Not All My Little Gringos! Let’s go one step further. Don’t just remove all stock pictures… remove stock EVERYTHING!

3. Add Your OWN Pictures And Videos

Create your own pictures, Take video during your breakthroughs, Take pictures of your costumers, … ideally without them knowing and blast them all over internet! Oh wait.. maybe you should ask them permission! Show everyone you are hot… as in your business is smokin. Show that everyone chooses you. Show off the great reviews. Do not forget ALT Tags!! Ohh and putting your logo on your pictures absolutely adds to your credibility score, so do it!

4. Apply Schema.org

You can do A LOT with schema.org. The best part is NO ONE knows how to do it right. So if you learned it…. and believe me that was an annoying process, you can look pretty cool in the search result!
